Jupyter Foundation will ensure the continued growth and sustainability of Project Jupyter’s open source software and standards ecosystem.
Established as a directed fund of The Linux Foundation, the Jupyter Foundation provides a means for organizations to support the needs of Project Jupyter as it continues to grow. With additional resources, Project Jupyter hopes to support critical areas of development such as security, accessibility, release management, documentation, and fostering an inclusive environment that encourages broad participation and collaboration across academia, government, and industry.
The Jupyter Foundation will be overseen by a governing board which includes member representatives as well as the Project Jupyter’s Executive Council. While joining the Jupyter Foundation does not grant influence over the technical projects of Project Jupyter, it allows companies to actively participate in the support for the broader Project Jupyter ecosystem.
